In This Episode / Introductions

Speaker 1

Did you know God's about to reintroduce himself to the church and to the world on a whole new level? That includes you. Forty years ago, he revealed something that left us stunned. We looked at each other and asked, is this for the millennium? Years later, he also gave us a vision of a storm cellar with scrolls inside that look like blueprints for what's coming. We believe the time is now to release these. And in this first episode, we're going to tell you why. Welcome to the Shekinah Today podcast. We're your hosts, Darrel and Cindy deVille.

Who Are We And Why Now?

Speaker 2

Hi, this is Cindy. Darrel and I just have so much to share with you and are excited to bring you these podcasts. You know, Ephesians tells us that Christ is returning for a glorious church. And in Matthew, Jesus said, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And that's what this podcast is all about. It's about raising you up, raising up his glorious church to reveal his glory throughout the nations of the earth. God is building us, he's working in you, he's working throughout his church. He has been cleansing, purifying, and he's making us ready. So stay tuned. You don't want to miss any of these episodes as we walk through the book, Rise of the Glorious Church.

Speaker 1

Amen. But before we share more, we want to briefly introduce ourselves and give you a glimpse into our personal background and why we've started this new podcast. There's so much to know. We're just going to keep it very brief. So let's begin with this. We're going to be celebrating our 40th year wedding anniversary this March.

Speaker 2

Yes. With Christ in the center. That's right. It's just our marriage is stronger, more beautiful and precious than ever.

Speaker 1

It is. We have three children, six grandchildren. We're based in Prosper, Texas. Prosper, Texas, for those who don't know, is in the North Dallas Metroplex area.

Speaker 2

And we actually lived in Frisco, Texas for over 20 years. And that's just right next door to Prosper. And this whole area, it's growing so fast. And we're all growing with it, right?

Speaker 1

That's right. We've actually been in the whole Dallas area, Metroplex, for most of the time, for a couple, except for a couple years.

Speaker 2

That's right.

The 1985 Vision – We It All Began

Speaker 1

We've been in the Dallas area for almost 40 years since we've been married. We basically got married and came right to Dallas. Long story. We won't go into it.

Speaker 2

We had to come where God lives, right?

Speaker 1

Yes, that's right. Anyway, but you know what's amazing how God brought us together in 1985. It's a long story too, but there was a time that came that we looked at each other stunned and we asked ourselves, is this for the millennium? Why did we ask that?

Speaker 2

God was downloading a huge vision in our hearts. When we see what God, what God began to share and download and give us.

Speaker 1

It was amazing. When we started, our courtship was very different. We did our regular dates, but most of our time, believe it or not, was actually to come together and praying together. That's right. Just praying and seeking God. We were just excited, and God was moving, His presence was moving. And then all of a sudden, God started showing us stuff. Yes. And showing us things, and we started writing these down, drawing these down, actually diagrams. We have them still today in our folders. What's amazing is it it just started unfolding something that caused us to ask, is this for the millennium? That's right. It was so grand and so amazing. I thought, wow. And then with what he was showing us during our prayer times, it was amazing. You know, we could have got married like almost right away. I mean, people thought we were crazy because we just got married within a few months. So we got married in Washington uh state and then moved down to Dallas to what seemed to be like a major hub for what God was doing in the 80s. And it was an amazing time. And then as we did, we just started soaking everything in prayer.

Speaker 2

And it's amazing because when um we first came to Dallas and God just downloaded all of this to us, which we're gonna share some with you, is we've had we were like we had a lot of growing spiritual growth for a lot. We were young in the Lord, we had a lot of growing, a lot of learning, mistakes to make and things. So yeah, but God, it was we felt like two children that God had just given this amazing thing to.

Speaker 1

And we're like Christmas gifts.

Speaker 2

Yeah. Wow, Lord, what's this for?

Our 40 Year Ministry Background

Speaker 1

But you know, we didn't necessarily understand it all, but we knew it was God. Yes, oh, absolutely. And so it was just like, God, how do we steward this? What do we do? So we just felt like we were supposed to just kind of keep it hidden for now, for that time, for almost 40 years now. But now we believe, and little by little, he's matured that vision in us and added to it since then. And now we felt the time is to release it, most of it, in our new book, Rise of the Glorious Church, which we'll be going through chapter by chapter. And please know we're not trying to sell a book, we're trying to send a message. This is about getting a message out. We believe that is life-changing, life-transforming, and church-changing. It's amazing message. You don't want to miss this.

Speaker 2

Amen.

Speaker 1

As we came to Dallas, we started working in ministry, working with a church where it was a big mega church at the time, probably the best-known church in America at the time. Yes. And we started working on there with on staff. Uh, we could tell you some of the staff members, you would know them by name. Some of them are pretty well known and great authors. Over these 40 years, we've worked probably in just pretty much almost every area of ministry, mostly behind the scenes, which is the way we liked it. We worked in children's ministry, youth ministry, worship ministry, like in the children's ministry.

Speaker 2

I have to, I have to share about the children's ministry because this is something I'll never forget. And in all of these areas where the Lord had us working, he was growing us, he was teaching us, but at the same time, we were serving. And it's amazing because wherever God put us, it was like we just poured out our lives, our hearts, our treasure, everything because we believed in the vision of that, those pastors and leaders. But the one I have to go back to the children's ministry, it is amazing because this church in Dallas, we would bus in almost a thousand children every Saturday morning from the very poor areas of Dallas. And so Darrel and I actually I was uh team. I got to drive the bus with the team bus game. Darrel was the bus driver, and I was the bus captain, and we called our team the Glory Gang. So early, and we gave all of our Saturdays to the Lord and absolutely loved that. And then in the youth, we served in the youth, and I taught some classes. One was Daughter of Destiny.

Speaker 1

So I was playing the drums and youth. And then also we we were part of worship teams. I played the drums, and Cindy was in the choir. Uh, also, we've been on media teams. We helped uh create the graphics, the videos, the motion graphics, the helped run the camera, helped do technical directing, all kinds of things. I remember we put helped put a whole team together and train their cameramen and train their do productions, so and then part of prayer teams, even part we've pastored for a season and done lots of teaching. And so this 40 years have been full of a lot of things, again, mostly in the background. And so we've experienced so much, we've seen so much over the years. We've experienced and seen the great, the amazing, the good, the bad, and as they say, the ugly and the really bad in the church, unfortunately. But that's just the reality of the makeup of the church. You get a mix of everything going on. And it's good to have an understanding of these things and how to deal with the things that need to be dealt with.

Speaker 2

We've watched great leaders and have served great leaders in some really great churches, and we've watched just and have gleaned and learned so much.

The Storm Cellar Vision And Prophetic Blueprints

Speaker 1

Yes, about 40 years together in ministry, one way or another, either involved in church or our own ministry or other ministries. And it's just amazing. But it's all started in 1985 with what God showed us.

Speaker 2

Yes.

Speaker 1

But then in 2012, I want to share another short story. As we're praying together, and we it's been our lifestyle.

Speaker 2

Yes.

Speaker 1

Often we pray in the morning and we'll pray in the evening. And a lot of times that's when as we're praying together, God will continue to show us things and speak to us. Yes. Some to the nations, some to the church, some very specific things that we've seen happen and come to pass, just like he said. Yes. Some to us that on a personal level to help grow us and mature us. Things that we want to end up putting in books, not all the details about us, but more the leadership principles and the things that he's given us are just amazing. We can't wait to share all these things. We're also planning to have a book of prophecies eventually. Yes. That shows a lot of these things.

Speaker 2

Well, you know, it's it's amazing because when we the Lord told us even at the very beginning, we had a pastor also confirm this to us that we were that everything was to be birthed in prayer. He said, The great your greatest work will be on your knees. And so everything that we build, we want it built by the Holy Spirit. That's right. This podcast, we want God to speak to you. We don't want it to be about us, we want it to be about God, about you, and what he wants to do in and through you and his church.

Speaker 1

That's right. And so 1985, God showed us the original vision and dream that was amazing. It kind of set the foundation. Then he started adding to it over the years. One of those things he did was in 2012. Again, we were praying together in the morning, and then came this vision, and the same day came a couple words that confirmed this. And it was a vision of me outside this storm cellar. My understanding is that it was a storm cellar for the coming end time storms were actually beginning to enter into you now. Yes. And something significant was inside for these end times. As I opened up the storm cellar and looked inside, there were many large scrolls, like blueprints and plans. I was looking at these and thinking, Lord, which one should I pick? Then the Lord showed us which scroll to take as he unfolded it. It was the glorious church blueprint. Yes. He wanted us to focus on the glorious church vision and message.

Speaker 2

That's right.

Speaker 1

See, each of those scrolls, he said, represented an area of ministry, and that this is the area that he wanted the message he wanted us to focus on is the glorious church message. To lay it out, understand it, and then run with it.

What Is The Glorious Church Message?

Speaker 2

What's interesting because before that in 2010, we had launched the Pray America Pray campaign. In 2007, we actually launched the Shekinah Today Ministries initially, shared the America America prophecy. We hadn't quite released the book. We were working on the book, God's Answer for America. Yes. God's Answer for America. We were focusing much on America, much on um, you know, calling the church and the nation to repentance and calling people to prayer across the nation. And then in 2012, that's when he said, showed Darrel.

Speaker 1

Yep. This was to be the focus. So what is the glorious church message? As Cindy shared earlier, Ephesians 5 27 talks about Jesus' coming back for a glorious church, a glorious bride. And in Revelation 19, 7, it says the bride has made herself ready. And the glorious church message shows how to become that glorious bride and how to get ready. This glorious church message is really like a journey, a journey to see your life differently, to see the church differently, to see the end times differently.

Speaker 2

That's good, yes. And that's so important because really, if we can't see it, we can't be it. We have to be able to receive it from heaven, to begin to see ourselves, see the church, see it differently, the way God sees it. And you know, many of you watching this or listening, you you have walked through some hard places, and you have, we're in a time, and we know this Isaiah 60 prophesies it about the darkness covering the earth and the journey for many of you over this last decade that you have suffered loss and pain and brokenness. And God is, he wants to, through this book, through this message, he wants to breathe new life into you. He wants to repair the breaches, he wants to mend those broken places. And you know, I keep thinking about I love one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is where Jesus is at Lazarus' tomb and Martha is there, and we know the story well. Lazarus has been in the tomb, like is it three to four days? He's dead in the tomb. All hope is lost, all everything seems dark. And you may even feel like that in your own life. It's like, I feel like I've lost everything. I'm in, I feel like I'm in the dark. But it was so beautiful is when Jesus called him forth. And I believe that's what God wants is doing in our lives, in the in the body of Christ right now, he's calling forth those dead things, those dead dreams, those places of darkness in your life where you feel I just have nothing else to live for. And I believe Jesus is standing right now before the church and he's saying, Come forth, rise up, rise up. But the part of this scripture that so touches my heart and burns in me is where I believe he looked over at Martha and he said, Daughter, did I not tell you that if you would believe, you would see the glory of God? And I believe that's what God is saying to us as his people. It may seem hopeless for some, even people looking at our nation, how can we fix all this? How can we do all this? God is saying to you, he's saying to us and to his church, did I not say that if you would believe, you would see the glory of God? And what did Martha see? She witnessed the dead come to life, and that's what we're gonna see, and that's what we want to see in your life and in the church.

Speaker 1

That's right. So, really, the glorious church message is first on a personal level to help you get ready and to walk in the fullness of all that God has for you. And it's really a life-transforming message. The second area of the Glorious Church message that we focus on, especially in the book, is to help the church on a corporate level to rise up glorious, operating in God's end-time plans and purposes in the fullness of what that looks like.

Speaker 2

That's right, and being able to show this in the book as we share the corporate body of Christ, what the steps and what God is saying, here's what you need to do. We're in a whole new day, as we've shared on our videos, is it's a new era, it's a new day, it's a new time. And we have to turn up the power. The church, we have to turn up the light. It's dark, we got to turn the light up. We got to turn the light up. God wants to turn the light up in your life and in his church. And so, yes, this is the corporately. We have to do this individually and then corporately as the body.

Speaker 1

That's right. And so, really, the fullness of this all, this message came into focus in 2017 when God downloaded in me and in us a vision of a heavenly blueprint of what the glorious church was to look like and how it was to function and operate. It was an amazing thing. We have it detailed in the book, and we'll be going through it later in a future episode. Be sure to be watching for that one. And it really, all of this and much more is now available in our book, Rise of the Glorious Church. And the subtitle of that book is Everything Is About to Change. What's amazing is we actually had that title almost about a year and a half ago, that subtitle, and have put that in place. And since then, it seemed like we've been hearing that everywhere. Everything's about to change.

Speaker 2

But we're actually seeing major changes just in our nation before our eyes.

Break: An Invitation

Speaker 1

We're seeing so God's setting things up, He's setting things stage. In fact, we see on the back of a book that the stage is being set for the end-time glorious church to rise in unprecedented unity, power, and glory. And we're going where we've never been before. That's right. It's going to be glorious and revolutionary. The question is, will you be part of it? It's time to get ready because everything is about to change. That's right. Okay, we're going to take a short break, and when we come back, we're excited to share with you what you can expect in season one of this Shekinah Today podcast. We'll also give you a glimpse of what God is saying and about to do, and we'll answer the question: why are we called Shekinah Today? You don't want to miss it. Stay tuned. Be right back.

What's Coming In Season One!

Speaker

Decades ago, God began shaping within Darrel and Cindy a grand vision, revealing his end-time plans and blueprints for what he's about to do in his church and in the nations. And now the time has come to share these from their new book, Rise of the Glorious Church. To learn more about all this, we invite you to watch our engaging and prophetic trailers and inspiring shorts on our new Shekinah Today YouTube channel. Then subscribe, share, and see more details on our website at shekinatoday.org.

Speaker 2

Welcome back. It's good to be back. I'm so excited about being able to walk through as we move forward all the chapters of the book. And you don't want to miss any one of these because it's very rich and it builds. And at the end is like this crescendo. It's pretty amazing.

Speaker 1

Here's some of the key things we're going to share. That heavily model blueprint for the end-time glorious church to rise up that we've spoken about. In one of the early episodes, we're going to be sharing from chapter one about three right end-time paradigms to help you navigate the days ahead.

Speaker 2

Which is so important. I mean, even when I've gone back and read the book, it just brings so much hope when you see things correctly. That's why we have to see correctly if we're going to be and walk correctly before our God.

Speaker 1

That's right. Because if you don't have the right paradigm, you see things with fear and dread. But if you have the right end-time paradigm, you see things with a great faith, hope, and a great sense of destiny and expectancy. And it's really amazing.

Speaker 2

And we know in the days ahead, because this is a word the Lord said and spoke, he said that there would be days of wonder, days of dread. But see, as as Christ followers, as his glorious church, that dread is the world is going to be hungry for truth. They're going to be hungry for the wonder of who, of Christ, the wonder of the kingdom of God. And so God is setting things up.

Speaker 1

That's right. So we'll be looking at heavily modeled blueprints, three right in time paradigms, and a stunning vision of Jesus unlocking seven in time doors. That's chapter two. So that'll be one of the earlier episodes as well.

Speaker 2

It was an amazing vision.

Speaker 1

I'll never forget that night. It was just incredible. We'll go into it at chapter two. You don't want to miss that one for sure. We'll also be sharing about the five glorious church fundamentals that will help unlock for you walking in the fullness of God's destiny that He's designed for you.

Speaker 2

You know what I love about the book and the message is it's for everyone. Whether you are a new believer, you can glean and learn so much from this. Or whether you are seasoned in the faith and you want to go deeper, you want the richer, deeper things. The book contains all of it. And so it'll be a great even discipleship book on some of the things we have in there. And but it's very, it's just it's just God. It is.

Speaker 1

It's full. It's like a buffet table of so much of truth and God's word and prophetic mixed in. And in fact, when we go back to read it, we're so blessed and inspired. It's just so rich. It's just so God because we know it's not from us, it's from Him. We're just the messengers. It's from Him.

Speaker 2

And it's amazing because we look at ourselves, Darrel, and this is what I think helps bring the breathes really life into the book and the balance of it all, the balance of the of truth and grace and the word and the spirit. It's just powerful in that way because Darrel, his gifting, and you'll be able to see this, is very strong as a teacher. He loves to go deep and just unveil the truths of God and the Word. And for me, I love to come in. I just the inspiration, the prophetic, I just I love that. And when you are flowing in your gift in what God's called you to do, you're gonna you're gonna have feel that that that joy, that fulfillment. But together, it's amazing because God knew. God, God lived.

Speaker 1

When God first put us together, it was just like, A hand in glove. It was just so such a perfect complimentary match.

Speaker 2

Even when we talk about it, it was so powerful, it makes me want to cry. Because I see I look back 40 years and I'm like, wow, God, you're amazing.

Speaker 1

So I'm trying to finish this bullet point list. Just a couple more bullet points. One is the key steps to rise up glorious, both personally and corporately, which we've kind of touched on just very briefly. Also, we share about 12 Ecclesia gates for maximum kingdom impact worldwide. What is that? I have to be sharing that later on in other podcasts. And then also throughout the book are prophetic words, insights to inspire, equip, and guide the church and so much more. Again, it's just so packed and rich. We just can hardly wait to share some of the key things with you. So that's some of what you can expect in season one. We're going to be walking through the book chapter by chapter, exploring all of it. We don't want to hold anything back. We're not trying to hide it. Oh, you have to buy the book to find out about this. No, we want to cover everything because, again, it's not about us selling books, it's about sending a message. And the book form is just one way to help get that out.

Speaker 2

Yes.

Speaker 1

And so we can't wait to share it all with you.

Speaker 2

We do believe as we are the first part of the podcast, as we were saying, everything's about to change. And we believe that change begins in you. It begins in each of us individually, allowing the Holy Spirit, allowing God to come in for us to be conformed into the image of Christ. Because it's only when there is less of us and more of Him, more of His glory, more of His Spirit, more of His presence, more of His truth that's coming through that we're going to see everything change.

What Is God Saying to the Church Right Now?

Speaker 1

That's right. And we want to see His people walk in the fullness of their divine destiny, be ready for what God's about to do. And we want to give you a glimpse of what He's about to do and what He's saying. Okay, do you want to know what God is saying to the church right now? God is saying, break the mold, let my plans unfold. He desires to breathe new life into his church, to open her eyes, to see her future and divine destiny and a completely new light. That's why we say in this glorious church message, you'll see your life differently, you'll see the church differently, and you'll see the end times differently. And that's why God is saying he's about to reintroduce himself on a whole new level. And we actually have a book trailer that kind of gives you a glimpse of that. But also there's some prophetic words that speak to that from chapter three.

A Prophetic Word for the Church

Speaker 2

Yes, and I want to share too break the mold, let my plans unfold. When you said that, the word mold, you know, when things get really old, the old ways of doing things, I'm not talking about throwing out scriptural things, I'm talking about the old ways, religious ways of we have to remove the limitations off of God. We have to raise up our expectations. God is wanting to move at a level that we have not seen him in our lifetime. And so the old things sometimes can get moldy, but God is saying, I am doing a new thing. This is your new era and it's a new day. I'm gonna do things a new way. And so this is what we we need to realize. So I'm gonna go ahead and read this. It was a prophetic word the Lord brought us, and I pray this speaks to you.

Speaker 1

From chapter three.

Why Next-Level Paradigms and Plans

Speaker 2

From chapter three, he said, There is a manifest glory and presence coming. It's at a level we have not seen before. It will be seen, the glory. Many will come clean, many will be driven to their knees. God also spoke, saying, From glory to glory, you will arise. I want to speak this over your life, even right now. From the earth to the skies, my church will rise. I will mend the broken pieces, I will repair and restore the breaches. God is, I believe He wants to speak that to you right now. That's what He wants to do. He wants a healthy church, a strong church rising up in the earth, a healed church. For I say, for I, says the Lord, I will come. I will come and do what no man can do among you. I will come and you will be changed, and my church will bring glory to my name. For there is nothing that the enemy has done that I cannot come and undo. I will come and visit you, and I will cause my glory to shine through you, in you, around you, and over you, and I will be your guard. And this is out of Isaiah 58, 8. And the also the first part, I will repair and restore the breaches. We see that prophecy in Isaiah 58, 12. So this is what God wants to do in his church. And we have many prophecies that deal with it, talk about the glory of the church.

Q&A: Why Are We Called "Shekinah Today"?

Speaker 1

Just amazing. Those are one of the words that came during our prayer time. There's so many things he's given us. But as we're talking about this, what God wants to do on a whole new level, that's why this book and this podcast is to help introduce you to next level paradigms and heavy plans designed to ignite what we believe is the emergence of the end-time glorious church, a church empowered to operate on a higher level of God's kingdom, power, and glory. Why? God is preparing his people for a great end time rescue mission. With it, he's also going to be setting up a great net that will draw multitudes of souls to him. We see that pattern in Isaiah 60. One, it talks about his glory coming, rising upon his people and being seen upon his people, upon his church, and that kings would come to the brightness of your rising, of the rising of his power and glory, and that multitudes, abundance of the sea, see in scripture often represents people, the abundance of the sea will be converted to these people converted to Christ. The glorious church will rise in the darkest times with the greatest light, yes, and the greatest answer, Jesus Christ. Yes, King Jesus, that King Jesus is coming, they'll rise with the gospel of the kingdom that will be heard across the world very clearly, and then the end shall come, just as Jesus foretold in Matthew 24.

Speaker 2

Yes. Amen.

Speaker 1

So as we begin to wrap up this episode, boy, it's gone by fast.

Speaker 2

It has. Oh my goodness. You talk a lot.

Speaker 1

Listen, one thing we want to do though is we want to encourage you all to ask questions. So if you're watching this on YouTube, feel free to make or post questions in the comments. And you can go to our shekinaToday.org contact page and just please specify in the title podcast question. And that way we'll that'll highlight that for us. Some people have asked this, why are you called Shekinah today?

Speaker 2

That's a good question.

Speaker 1

Yeah. And so what does the word shekinah actually mean? A lot of people think, what's the glory of God? It is. Shekinah is a Hebrew term really about dwelling and settling. And sp more specifically, it means the divine dwelling presence of God manifest for all to see.

Speaker 2

Yes.

Speaker 1

One clear biblical example of God's Shekinah glory seen, it was as a pillar of fire in Moses' day. Cloud by day, fire by night. And very soon, like we said, we believe God's about to reintroduce himself to the world on a whole new level, that he's going to manifest his Shekinah today. He wants his Shekinah scene today. And that's one reason we're called Shekinah today.

Speaker 2

We say that too, because it is really establishing this is what God wants. And this has been a deep prayer of ours, is that you know, the prayer and the cry we see in the in scripture is that Lord come, you in the ark of your might come and make this your resting place. And that is what we are crying out for across the nations of the earth at the church. And that's what we lay out in the blueprint of how do we make this his resting place? How do we build these churches where the glory of the Lord is manifest, that it is the dwelling place of God that impacts lives, families, cities, and nations. No more just a club, but a place where a major impact. And so that's the name, Shekinah.

Speaker 1

That's going to be glory today.

Speaker 2

Not in the old, not back then. We call it today, Shekinah today, because God wants to show up today. He wants the world to see his glory today. He wants to show off, show up, show out. He wants the whole world to see who he really is. And that's been a cry in my heart too is God, would you unveil yourself before the nations of the earth? Let them see you for who you really are.

Speaker 1

It's Isaiah 40, verse 5.

Speaker 2

Yes. And that that is our which says what? It says, For the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

Speaker 1

They will see it.

Speaker 2

For the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. So this is something God has declared, and it's something He is going to do.

Speaker 1

That's right. And if you watch our book trailer, you'll see that verse and some visual representations of what that could look like. You don't want to miss that. Go look at it.

Final Thoughts Final & What’s Next

Speaker 2

It's amazing because I'll go back through my journals and things from years back, because I love journaling. And that has been the base scripture, Isaiah 40, verse 5, and also Isaiah 60, verse 1, and then Numbers, I think it's 1421, where Moses is talking about the glory of the Lord.

Speaker 1

Yes.

Speaker 2

And so that's been the theme from the beginning.

Speaker 1
